Life continues to show me that there is more beneath the surface. As a result, I dig.

Over time, I have come to recognize this digging that I insist upon as a kind of archaeology — an ongoing exploration of Wisdom through life itself.

I do not know that Wisdom can ever be fully explained. Perhaps she must be encountered, experienced and embraced.

But what is Wisdom?

What is Truth?

What is Reality?

And why should any of this matter to the way we live?

These are not questions I approach believing that I possess their final answers. In fact, the very recognition of Wisdom seems to demand humility — an acknowledgement that there may always be more to see, more to understand, and more beneath what we presently accept as true.

I am not standing at the end of this exploration. I am in it. And perhaps that is precisely why I continue to dig.

A NOTE BEFORE WE CONTINUE

This is an exploration, not a declaration of final knowledge.

As this exploration unfolds, I ask questions, introduce language, and follow ideas as far as I am presently able to see them. I do not claim to define what cannot be fully perceived, nor do I ask you to surrender your own tradition, faith or experience.

You will encounter the term the IS. It is simply the language I use when referring to the all-encompassing whole of which we are a part. Others may use different names. Some may use none at all.

My invitation is not that you agree with me.
It is that we look carefully together.
